Veterinary Professional Technician:
The Veterinary Professional Technician performs a variety of behind-the-scenes duties to ensure quality pet and client care. The Veterinary Professional Technician will be computer savvy and will be able to navigate through the paperless computer system at OSVS. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of emergency and critical care and the ability remain calm during stressful situations.
Enter daily charges for hospitalized patients, audit daily invoices for hospitalized patients, communicate with clients post discharge, phone triage of potential emergency patients, understands classification of commonly used medications and associated side effects, fill prescriptions, call prescription orders into outside pharmacies, provide daily updates to clients and facilitate patient/client visits, relay pertinent information to client at time of discharge
Surgery Liaison Technician
The Surgery Liaison position is designed to provide our clients with veterinary support from pre-consultation, hospitalization, discharge, and post-operative care. The liaison will follow-up with all surgical patients to see how they are doing at home and to ensure the patients do not need additional medical attention. The liaison is also available to answer medical related questions for clients that may arise before surgery of after discharge. The liaison works closely with the surgery clinicians to ensure the best outcome for all patients and clients. The surgery liaison will be computer savvy and will be able to navigate through the paperless computer system at OSVS. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of veterinary medicine and surgical practices.
Phone triage of potential surgical patients, coordinate surgeons’ schedules for consultation appointments, recheck appointments, and procedures/surgeries, create patient care estimates for each procedure, communicate with clients pre-operatively and post discharge, create invoices and enter charges for surgery appointments, Relay pertinent information to client at time of discharge, obtain medical records from primary care veterinarians, understands classification of commonly used medications and associated side effects, fill prescriptions, call prescription orders into outside pharmacies, provide daily updates to clients on surgery patients and facilitate patient/client visits, assist the surgery technicians with appointments as needed, assist the surgery technicians with inventory and ordering as needed
Veterinary Pharmacy Technician
The Veterinary Pharmacy Technician will be computer savvy and will be able to navigate through the paperless computer system at OSVS. The Pharmacy Technician must demonstrate a strong attention to detail and be able to audit their own work. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of emergency and critical care and the ability remain calm during stressful situations.
Retrieval of prescription requests via email, voicemail, and fax, communicate with clients regarding prescription instructions, refills, etc., communicate with staff regarding prescription requests, scan through doctor’s notes for prescription directives, understands classification of commonly used medications and associated side effects, fill prescriptions in in-house pharmacy, call, fax, and email prescription orders into outside pharmacies, audit controlled substance log, ordering and inventory of pharmaceuticals, stocking and organizing of pharmacy.
Job Requirements for all positions:
Tech school graduate or at least 2 years recent experience in veterinary practice, Excellent interpersonal communications skills, High school diploma or GED, Veterinary Technician certification is preferred.
Compassion and love of animals, excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to prioritize and multitask, superior client service skills, ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

Full Time and Part-Time Veterinary Technician Positions Available
Wolf Rock Animal Health Center has openings for experienced veterinary technicians to join our pack. Previous experience, and/or Technical education is preferred, however we will consider new graduates, or a highly motivated individual who wishes to pursue veterinary technology as a career path. Our Full time position comes with benefits and a set work schedule each week. The part time position is flexible in regards to hours and days.
